Dr. Michael Oulahen
Dr. Michael Oulahen graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1989, and since beginning with the 650 Portland St. Superstore location in 1991, has watched Family Vision Clinic grow to its current five locations. Dr. Oulahen has developed a loyal patient base and enjoys seeing both previous and new patients.
Outside the office, he can usually be found sailing or working on a construction project. He resides in Bedford and is the proud father of two sons.

Dr. Miriam Debly
Dr. Miriam Debly is a native of Saint John, N.B. and graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1991. She did her internship at the Baltimore Eye Center before joining Dr. Michael Oulahen in practice at Family Vision Clinic in Dartmouth, N.S. where they soon expanded their practice to include five locations in Halifax and Dartmouth.
In 2001 she took a 100 hour therapeutic pharmaceutical course at the University of California Optometry School. Dr. Debly specializes in dry eyes, and has a keen interest in following these patients until they achieve success in their treatment course. She also specializes in diabetes, macular degeneration and cataracts. In addition, Dr. Debly has been doing post-operative laser vision care for 25 years and has a close working relationship with both the TLC Laser clinic and LASIK MD in Halifax.
A growing area of interest to Baby Boomers is multifocal contact lenses, and Dr. Debly strives to try all of the various products on the market to suit the lifestyle and needs of each individual patient. Lastly, her interest in the fashion aspect of frame selection is also a source of great pleasure and she enjoys working personally with patients to find the perfect frame. She welcomes patients with mild post-concussion symptoms and provides optical solutions and advice to help with their temporary symptoms as they progress through the stages of recovery.
Dr. Debly currently resides in Hammonds Plains, and works at both the Halifax and Dartmouth locations. She enjoys volunteering with the United Way, running, Hot Yoga, cooking, fashion and interior designing and traveling. She is also fluent in both Arabic and French, and is always happy to see both new or existing patients at either the Portland Street, Superstore location in Dartmouth, Clayton Park in Halifax and Nine Mile in Bedford.

Dr. Jody Killoran
Dr. Jody Killoran received her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of New Brunswick in 1998. After completing her degree she went on to the University of Waterloo where she graduated with honors to receive her Doctorate of Optometry.
Her areas of interest include diabetic management, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration and pediatrics.
She especially enjoys working with laser vision patients and performing pre and post operative care. She, herself, has had laser vision correct in 2006 which allows her to counsel patients about the procedure and post-operative expectations from a more personal level.
She currently serves on a peer-reviewed advisory panel with 11 other eye care professionals from across Canada with Essilor Canada.
She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and children when not practicing Optometry.

Dr. Rhett MacDonald
Dr. Rhett MacDonald received his Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Dalhousie University in 1995, and graduated with Honours from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts in 2000.
In 2001 Dr. Rhett MacDonald completed a residency program in Hospital-based and Primary Care Optometry at the Boston Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Brockton, Massachusetts. During this time he worked closely with many vision-impaired veterans and gained experience in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease. He also regularly administered low vision examinations and low vision aids.
After finishing his residency, Dr. MacDonald joined Empire Vision Centers in Syracuse, New York. He worked in the Syracuse area until December of 2005, at which time he moved home to Halifax to work with Family Vision Clinic in Dartmouth.
He recently became a board member of the Nova Scotia and PEI region of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind and looks forward to working closely with the community on issues of health and vision care.

Dr. Stephanie Blackmore
Dr. Stephanie Blackmore completed a Bachelor of Science with a major in Behavioural Neuroscience from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2004. She continued her education abroad, completing the European Studies Program at MUN's Harlow Campus located in Harlow, England.
After her travels, Dr. Blackmore returned to Canada to obtain her Optometry Doctorate from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, and graduated in 2009 after completing an ocular disease rotation in Louisville, Kentucky and Jeffersonville, Indiana.
Dr. Blackmore is currently serving as Chair of the Nova Scotia College of Optometrists.
Dr. Blackmore is available for appointments at the Portland Street, Nine Mile Drive and Tacoma Drive locations and welcomes patients, both new and returning, to her practice

Dr. Marni Denman
Dr. Marni Denman is originally from Halifax and is delighted to return to Nova Scotia and work for Family Vision Clinic at both their Halifax and Dartmouth locations. Dr. Denman received her Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a Minor in Mathematics from Mount Allison University in May, 2004 and was named to the Dean's List. Before attending Optometry school, Marni taught English, Mathematics, and Biology in South Korea while travelling for a year. Dr. Denman graduated from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts in 2009 with a Doctor of Optometry Degree. She was named to the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and was awarded the NECO Alumni Association Scholarship for academic excellence and community service.
While in Boston, Marni was part of a group of students who travelled to El Salvador during their summer break to provide eye examinations and glasses services. This was an enlightening experience and she looks forward to doing more mission work in the future. As part of her internships, Dr. Denman worked at the East Boston Community Health Centre, the Newport Naval Eye Clinic, and the Bays Pines Veteran's Hospital in Florida. She had extensive training in the management of ocular disease including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and cataracts. She also spent 3 months working closely with a Contact Lens Specialist in Miami, Florida and attended a specialty lens course at the Johnson and Johnson facility in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. Denman enjoys playing soccer, skiing, family and travel time and enjoys meeting both new and returning patients!

Dr. Jenna Snow
Dr. Jenna Snow graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2013. She grew up and still resides in Bedford, but she did her undergrad at Acadia University and still loves to go back and visit the beautiful town of Wolfville. Dr. Snow is very interested in eye health and how the health of the body relates to the health of the eyes. Ensuring her patients understand what is going on with their eyes and their health is very important to her. As part of her training, Dr. Snow did a 4 month internship with OMNI Eye Specialists in Baltimore, Maryland, where she learned to manage and treat a variety of eye diseases.
In her spare time she enjoys travelling, reading, golfing and spending time with her friends and family.
She is excited to start her career with Family Vision Clinic and is looking forward to seeing new patients and developing a great doctor-patient relationship.

Dr. Sarah Farrag
Dr. Sarah Farrag is originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia and is very excited to be back home to practice Optometry. She graduated with honours from the University of Waterloo’s Doctor of Optometry program in June of 2015.
Before attending Optometry school, she received her Bachelor of Science with honours in Chemistry, and a graduate diploma in Orthoptics and Ophthalmic Medical Technology, both from Dalhousie University. During this time she also became a certified Orthoptist, a health professional specializing in the diagnosis and management of disorders affecting binocular vision and ocular motility, which are areas in eye care that she has a continued interest in. As part of her optometric training, she completed a 4-month internship focused on ocular disease and therapeutics in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she gained experience in managing many diseases that can affect eye health.
When not seeing patients, she enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with family. Dr. Farrag is looking forward to seeing patients at the Halifax, Bedford and Dartmouth locations.
